Baltimore, Maryland – Monday’s Powerball drawing brought fortune to two Maryland players, each winning $50,000, as anticipation builds for a $285 million jackpot in the Valentine’s Day drawing.
Although the grand prize went unclaimed, Maryland saw 9,066 winning tickets, with amounts ranging from $4 to the hefty $50,000 third-tier prizes. The lucky tickets were sold in Baltimore at Jack’s Fine Food, 4519 Kenwood Avenue, and in Frederick at GetGo from Giant Eagle #3841, 1000 West Patrick Street. The winning combination was 17, 36, 43, 53, and 67, with a Powerball of 14 and a Power Play multiplier of X2.
Winners are advised to securely sign the back of their tickets and keep them safe until claiming their prizes, which must be done within 182 days from the draw date. For prizes over $25,000, winners must claim their earnings either by mail or directly at the Lottery headquarters, located at the Montgomery Park Business Center in Baltimore, by appointment only.
As the Powerball jackpot surges to an estimated $285 million for February 14, with a cash option of approximately $137.7 million, Marylanders are reminded of the state’s history of significant wins, including three Powerball jackpot victories. In 2024 alone, Maryland has already sold two $1 million second-tier tickets, along with three $50,000 third-tier and one $50,000 Double Play ticket, marking a lucky start to the year.
