Newark Police Seeks Suspects in Brutal Unprovoked Attack

Newark, NJ – Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault. The incident took place in the early hours of February 16, 2024, around 4:45 a.m., on the 100 block of South Street in Newark.

Responding officers were informed that the suspect, who was dressed in dark-colored clothing, gloves, and a ski mask, was seen on surveillance footage attacking the victim. The assailant followed the victim before launching an unprovoked attack, punching and kicking her to the ground.

The Newark Police Department urges anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the suspect to come forward. This case highlights the need for community cooperation in resolving violent crimes and ensuring the safety of all residents.
