LEE COUNTY, FL – A Lee County Sheriff’s Deputy is being hailed as a hero after a dramatic rescue of an unresponsive woman from a canal was captured on body camera footage.
The incident occurred near State Road 82 when the Deputy, assigned to the 2nd Precinct, responded to a distress call. Without hesitation, the Deputy plunged into the canal to save the drowning woman. The tense moments following the rescue were marked by relief as the woman began coughing up water and breathing again, thanks to the Deputy’s swift actions.
