ROCKVILLE, MD — The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division is actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred last Thursday at the Tobacco Hut located on Rockville Pike. Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved.

The incident took place at about 6:30 p.m., when the suspect entered the store and demanded merchandise. After the employee initially refused to comply, the suspect threatened the victim from behind the counter, prompting compliance. The suspect subsequently left the store with stolen goods.

Surveillance footage and photos released by the police show the suspect as a White male in his early to mid-twenties, standing between 5’6″ and 5’8″ tall with a slim build. He was seen wearing a red baseball cap, a black “Champion” hoodie, black baggy pants, and white sneakers with black laces.

He appears to have a distinctive star-shaped tattoo, scar, or piercing under his left eye. Detectives urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
