ATV driver slams into officers on U Street and flees

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A high-speed collision involving an ATV and two police officers on U Street sent both officers to the hospital and triggered a citywide search for the fleeing suspect.

One officer suffered serious injuries but has since been discharged along with the second officer. The identities of the injured officers have not been released.

Investigators are seeking assistance in identifying the ATV and its driver. The public is urged to report tips but avoid approaching the individual. Video of the suspect is available at: https://youtu.be/C_wuZuEhNAs
