Baltimore man charged with attempted murder in Greenmount Avenue business shooting

BALTIMORE, MD – A 42-year-old Baltimore man has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder following a shooting inside a commercial business on Greenmount Avenue that left a 36-year-old man wounded.

The shooting occurred February 17 at approximately 1:18 a.m. in the 3100 block of Greenmount Avenue.

Officers responding to the scene located a 36-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside the business. The victim was transported by medics to an area hospital for treatment.

Following an investigation, detectives identified Darryl Spence, 42, of Baltimore, as a suspect in the case.

On February 19, Warrant Apprehension detectives took Spence into custody. He was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder.

No additional details about the motive or the condition of the victim were released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
