TRENTON, N.J. — A Barnegat woman has claimed a $1 million Powerball prize after purchasing a winning quick-pick ticket at a local convenience store, marking a milestone in her years of playing the lottery.

Stacey Fiore, a supervisor for New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority, matched five numbers in Saturday’s Powerball drawing: 11, 24, 50, 56, and 66, missing only the Powerball number of 16. The ticket, bought at the Quick Stop on Bay Avenue in Barnegat, was the only one in the nation to secure the $1 million prize in this draw.

Fiore’s win makes her the 39th New Jersey Lottery draw game player to win at least $1 million this year and the 10th to do so through Powerball. Despite the windfall, she returned to her regular job this week, underscoring her practical approach to the unexpected win.

The family has no immediate plans for extravagant purchases, though they have hinted at celebrating with a vacation. Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot continues to grow, estimated at $130 million for the next drawing on Saturday.
