A Bethlehem Township man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after pleading guilty to the brutal killing of his wife inside their home last year.

A Northampton County judge has sentenced a Bethlehem Township man to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of his wife in a case that shocked the Lehigh Valley community.

James Christopher Frank of Bethlehem Township was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to first-degree murder in the death of Deborah Glaser.

The sentence was imposed by the Honorable Brian J. Panella in Northampton County Court.

Welfare Check Led to Discovery

The investigation began on the morning of March 11, 2025, when Bethlehem Township police responded to a residence on 3rd Street for a welfare check requested by a concerned family member.

Officers received no response at the home and attempted to gain access through a second-floor window.

Police made contact with Frank inside the residence and asked him to open the front door.

According to investigators, Frank allowed officers inside and directed them to a bathroom where Glaser was found deceased.

Victim Found in Bathtub

Authorities said Glaser was discovered in a bathtub suffering from multiple stab and puncture wounds.

Investigators recovered several cutting instruments from the bathroom, including knives, razor blades, and box cutters, along with a mallet.

Court records indicate Frank admitted to attacking his wife and told investigators he inflicted additional injuries after the initial assault.

An investigation by Bethlehem Township Police ultimately led to Frank being charged with murder.

Guilty Plea Avoided Trial

Frank entered a guilty plea to first-degree murder on June 10.

Under Pennsylvania law, a conviction for first-degree murder carries a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment without parole.

Family members of the victim attended Wednesday’s sentencing hearing and were given an opportunity to address the court.

Prosecutors Cite Thorough Investigation

Northampton County District Attorney Stephen G. Baratta announced the sentence and credited investigators for their work on the case.

The prosecution was handled by First Assistant District Attorney Robert Eyer.

The investigation was led by Investigator Adam Ebner of the Bethlehem Township Police Department.
