Body found in stolen car trunk identified as Philadelphia man

Philadelphia, PA – A 27-year-old man was found dead inside the trunk of a stolen car in North Philadelphia, authorities said.

Around 9:12 p.m. Wednesday, officers from the 22nd District were called to the 2000 block of North Bambrey Street for a report of a suspicious, unattended Dodge Charger. Police confirmed the car had been stolen and noticed a strong odor coming from the locked trunk.

When the trunk was opened, officers discovered the body of Malik Tribble, of the 1700 block of North 25th Street, wrapped in a sheet. Medics pronounced him dead at 9:49 p.m.

The Medical Examiner ruled Tribble’s death a homicide, determining he had been shot multiple times.

Investigators have not released a possible motive, and no arrests have been made. The Homicide Unit is leading the case and asking anyone with information to come forward.
