MORRISTOWN, NJ – Chris Christie’s time has passed, whether he knows it or not. That was the headline in the Boston Herald this week as former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie hit the Presidential campaign trail, hoping to pull himself out of the basement.

Christie has been polling at a solid 0% in presidential candidate polls.

That’s not stopping him from trying.

“Chris Christi is the last guy who should be talking about taking on Donald Trump,” Peter Lucas wrote. “The former New Jersey governor failed to do so in 2016 when he as a presidential candidate had the opportunity in the GOP presidential primary.”

Chris Christie is now setting his sights on the GOP by trying to brand himself as “better than the rest.”

That’s accomplished by trading barbs and personal insults most of the time. You know, Chris Christie’s trademark brand of politics. By doing so, he thinks it can elevate his status during the race for the GOP nominee for President.

Lucas compared Christie’s attacks on former President Donald Trump to a New Jersey wise guy trying to push his weight around in New York City.

“Christie trading insults with Trump is like a New Jersey wise guy going after a wise guy from Queens, even after Trump was indicted on dubious and politically tainted charges. I’d bet on Trump, despite the indictment,” he added.

Christie will forever be remembered in New Jersey for the Bridgegate scandal, beach gate and for terrorizing public workers’ benefits under the direction of Democrat political boss George Norcross. Norcross pushed Christie to dismantle the public pension and benefits system to push more business to Norcross, who owns one of the largest public sector insurance firms in New Jersey.

We’re not sure which Democrat party boss Christie is working for these days, but his views on Trump, DeSantis, and other frontrunner Republicans is out of touch with most Republican voters.

The Boston Herald wasn’t the only major media outlet mocking Christie’s follies at the national level. Even Salon.com realizes Christie’s time has passed.
