Brick Township Council confirms former Jackson Mayor Joseph D Grisanti as municipal court judge

BRICK TOWNSHIP — The Township Council has formally approved the appointment of Joseph D. Grisanti to serve as Judge of the Municipal Court, following a nomination by Mayor Lisa Crate.

Grisanti has been serving in the position since 2016.

Grisanti, a former FBI agent and ex-councilmember in neighboring Jackson Township, will begin his three-year term on August 22, with the appointment set to run through August 21, 2028, in accordance with state law (N.J.S.A. 2B:12-4). The council passed the resolution at its meeting on Tuesday after reviewing and expressing satisfaction with Grisanti’s qualifications.

The resolution states that the governing body “does hereby consent to the appointment of Joseph D. Grisanti” and directs that certified copies be sent to both the mayor and the appointee.

Grisanti’s background in federal law enforcement and local government was noted as part of the consideration leading to the appointment.

The Brick Township Council’s vote marks the official confirmation of Grisanti’s appointment to the bench.
