Bronx man indicted for murdering two men six days apart

February 22, 2025

BRONX, N.Y. — A 20-year-old Bronx man has been indicted on two counts of second-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing his landlord and, days later, a possible witness to the crime, prosecutors announced.

Jailyn Wagner, last of 852 East 176th Street, was arraigned before Bronx Supreme Court Justice Kim Parker on February 20, 2025. He was charged with two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree manslaughter, and four counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was remanded and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 23, 2025.

According to the investigation, on July 23, 2024, around 2:53 a.m., Wagner allegedly shot his landlord, 28-year-old Idriss Cherif El Farissy, multiple times in the head outside their apartment building. He then fled on a Citi Bike to a nearby park, changed clothes, and returned to the building as police responded.

Six days later, on July 29, around 3 a.m., Wagner allegedly shot 39-year-old Roman Martinez Malave multiple times in the head inside a mobile home parked near East 176th Street and Mohegan Avenue. Malave was living in the trailer, which was located just half a block from the first crime scene. Wagner allegedly fled to a park again, changed clothes, and walked home.

“The defendant allegedly killed his landlord, and just days later allegedly killed a possible witness to the slaying,” Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark said. “We are bringing him to justice and will continue to hold perpetrators of gun violence accountable.”
