Bronx, NY – A Bronx man was sentenced Thursday for firing multiple shots on a crowded Fordham Road, wounding a 2-year-old boy as he walked with his mother.

According to investigators, Freddy Flores of Walton Avenue opened fire just after 1:40 p.m. on March 30, 2024, during a confrontation near Fordham Road and the Grand Concourse.
The shots were directed at an individual across the street as weekend crowds filled the area.
One bullet struck the 2-year-old boy on the opposite sidewalk as the child walked with his mother.
Child treated and recovered
The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals Jacobi, where he received treatment for the injury.

Guilty plea leads to sentencing
Flores pleaded guilty to attempted murder in the second degree on September 17.
Bronx Supreme Court Justice Timothy Lewis sentenced him to seven years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.
