Chicago woman charged in CTA bus stabbing that injured two passengers

CHICAGO, Ill. – A 37-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly attacking two people with a sharp object aboard a CTA bus on the city’s West Side Sunday afternoon, police said.

Diamond Miller, of the 100 block of North La Crosse Avenue, was arrested around 12:50 p.m. on December 21 in the 4000 block of West Cermak Road. Authorities said the arrest came roughly 20 minutes after she allegedly assaulted a 54-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man while riding a bus in the same area within the 10th District.

According to investigators, the 54-year-old victim was struck with a sharp object, while the 35-year-old man was also battered during the same incident. Both victims’ conditions were not immediately disclosed.

Miller faces multiple charges, including three felony counts of aggravated battery—use of a deadly weapon, aggravated battery to a transit employee, and aggravated battery in a public place—as well as one misdemeanor count of aggravated assault against a handicapped or elderly person.

She is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing on December 24 at 2600 South California Avenue.
