BRICK, NJ – According to the Brick Township Police Department, on Thursday at 10:40 A.M., Officers had responded to the Quick Check on Route 70 in reference to disorderly subjects who appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Street Crimes Unit Detectives responded to assist. Officers observed a residue in the nostrils of both subjects, who were identified as Joseph (53 years old) and Dina (55 years old) Karcich, both of Toms River. Investigation at the scene led to the discovery of heroin, Oxycontin pills, and amphetamine. Both Joseph and Dina were charged with possession of heroin, amphetamine, Oxycontin, drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS). They were lodged in Ocean County Jail.
