D.C. police seek suspects in two Southwest business burglaries

WASHINGTON — The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects and a vehicle connected to two business burglaries that occurred early Thursday morning in Southwest Washington, D.C. Police reported the incidents took place within a 12-minute span on October 24, 2024.

According to authorities, the first incident occurred between 4:24 a.m. and 4:36 a.m. when suspects forcibly entered a business in the Unit block of District Square, Southwest. Police say the suspects fled without taking any property from that location.

Shortly after, the suspects reportedly broke into another business in the 800 block of Maine Avenue, Southwest, where they took property and money before fleeing the scene. The police did not specify the amount or type of property stolen.

The suspects and the suspect vehicle were captured on a surveillance camera, and footage of the incident has been released by the police. The Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle to avoid taking action themselves and to call authorities at (202) 727-9099.
