Elderly Virginia man vanishes as truck turns up abandoned

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police and Fairfax County police are seeking the public’s help in finding an 80-year-old man who has been missing for nearly a week after disappearing in the Falls Church area.

Robert Howard Williams was last seen around noon on Nov. 25 in the 2100 block of Westmoreland Street. Authorities said he was believed to be driving a silver 2008 Toyota Tacoma at the time.

On Sunday, state police announced that the truck was located unoccupied in the 5700 block of Fairfax Drive in Arlington. Police have not disclosed further details about the vehicle or its discovery.

Williams is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. Authorities said his disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety, but details on his clothing at the time of his disappearance remain unavailable.
