LANCASTER COUNTY, PA – An Ephrata man has been sentenced to five to 10 years in state prison for illegally possessing a loaded firearm and drug paraphernalia while under supervision and subject to a protection from abuse order.
Angel Luis Cintron, 46, received the sentence on July 24 from Judge Jeffrey Wright after pleading guilty in May to possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities said a Lancaster County Adult Probation officer discovered a loaded pistol, ammunition, and marijuana during an unannounced visit to Cintron’s Washington Avenue residence in November 2024. Cintron admitted to hiding the loaded pistol under his couch cushions. He had been ordered to surrender any firearms as a condition of both parole and a protection from abuse order issued in September 2024.
Additional items found in the home included marijuana, a smoking device, a grinder, and a gun case with loaded magazines.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Chris Miller and investigated by Ephrata Borough Police Officer Cody Newswanger.
