Police say one was carrying a North Face backpack

WASHINGTON, DC – Two young males were being sought after a Sunday night robbery in Northeast DC, with police issuing descriptions of both suspects and warning the public not to approach them.

The Metropolitan Police Department reported the robbery in the 5000 block of Hunt Place NE.

An AlertDC notice was issued at approximately 9:58 p.m. Sunday.

Both suspects described as about 18

Police described both suspects as Black males approximately 18 years old and between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8.

One was reportedly wearing a gray hoodie with a black jacket.

The second was described as wearing a black jacket and carrying a North Face backpack.

The initial alert did not state whether a weapon was used in this robbery.

MPD also did not provide information about injuries, stolen property or the circumstances immediately preceding the incident.

MPD warns public not to intervene

Police warned anyone who encounters the suspects not to take action and to call 911.

No arrests were announced in the initial crime alert.
