Police say one suspect was armed during the Sunday night robbery

WASHINGTON, DC – Seven males were being sought after an armed robbery in Southeast DC Sunday night, with police warning that one of the suspects was carrying a handgun when officers launched their search.

The Metropolitan Police Department reported the robbery in the 600 block of Chesapeake Street SE.

An AlertDC notice was issued at approximately 9:49 p.m. Sunday.

Police say one suspect had gun

MPD issued a lookout for seven Black males in connection with the robbery.

The suspect reported to have the gun was described as having a light complexion and a tattoo. Police said he was wearing a black jacket, white shirt and gold chain.

The initial crime alert did not provide details about what was taken or describe the circumstances leading up to the robbery.

No information about injuries was included in the alert.

Public warned not to approach

MPD specifically warned members of the public not to take action if they encounter the individuals being sought.

Anyone who sees the suspects or witnesses an immediate emergency should call 911.
