Father-son duo scores $150K Powerball prize in Andover

ANDOVER, OH — John, a lucky Powerball player from Andover, won $150,000 in the Monday, Sept. 23, drawing after matching 4-of-5 numbers plus the Powerball with the Power Play option.

The ticket, purchased by his son at Village Tobacco on Public Square, originally won $50,000 before the Power Play multiplier tripled the prize. The winning numbers were 15, 21, 25, 37, 45, and Powerball 19.

John, who chose his own numbers, said he was in disbelief when he realized he had won. He plans to use his winnings to purchase land.

The odds of winning $50,000 by matching 4-of-5 numbers plus the Powerball are 1 in 913,129, according to lottery officials.

The Ohio Lottery noted that the next Powerball jackpot is estimated at $145 million for Saturday’s drawing.
