Germantown, MD – A Montgomery County man won $62,576 after placing a Racetrax superfecta box bet built around a long-odds horse combination recommended by a friend.

He wagered the combination of horses 9, 10, 11, and 12 during a visit to Gaithersburg on November 7.

The bet hit when the race finished 12, 9, 10, 11.

  • Bet covered all permutations of horses 9, 10, 11, and 12

The player placed the wager at My Dollar & More on North Frederick Avenue after recalling advice from a friend who once claimed success betting the same long-shot group of horses.

The 10-cent superfecta box covered every possible finishing order among the four horses, producing a $4.80 total bet.

The man, an engineer, said he plans to use his winnings to assist those in need.

He emphasized that the prize offers an opportunity to support charitable efforts he values.

My Dollar & More will receive a $625 retailer bonus, equal to 1% of the prize value, for selling a winning ticket worth $10,000 or more.
