Jackson Township Participates in Clean Communities Grant Program for Community Improvement

JACKSON, NJ – If you noticed tonight, Jackson Township is a little bit cleaner than it was yesterday. That’s because volunteers lined the town’s roadways and cleaned up the trash.

Jackson Township offers seasonal cleanups through the Clean Communities Grant program, an initiative aimed at keeping local roadways clean and promoting community involvement. Led by Recreation Director Joey Lynn Zapata, the program offers mini-grants to local non-profit groups in exchange for cleaning refuse from along Township roadways.

On a beautiful spring Saturday, several groups took part in the program, including the Jackson Police Explorers and PBA. Participants came together to take pride in their community and make a significant difference for residents and commuters alike.

The event was coordinated by Zapata, who serves as the program administrator, who ensured that the cleanup ran smoothly and efficiently.

Jackson Mayor Michael Reina applauded the efforts of the township workers and civic groups who participated in the spring cleanup around town on Saturday.
