Jackson township honors minit stop deli as small business of the month

JACKSON, N.J. — A neighborhood staple for more than four decades, Minit Stop Deli Market & Meats was recognized by the Jackson Township Council as February’s Small Business of the Month, celebrating the longtime eatery’s continued service and impact in the community.

Council members praised the family-owned business, located at the corner of Chandler and Jackson Mills Road, for its quality food, consistent service, and commitment to Jackson since opening in 1980.

“I like to frequent the Minit Stop… maybe too much,” Councilman Nino Borrelli said during a council meeting. “They’ve got really good coffee, sandwiches, meats, and more. I encourage you to patronize the Minit Stop if you don’t already.”

Council President Jennifer Kuhn formally acknowledged the business, offering congratulations to the team and its owner, Matt Ferrari.

“Congratulations on being named the Small Business of the Month for February 2025,” Kuhn said. “Your dedication to excellence and commitment to the community and the spirit of entrepreneurship in Jackson—we appreciate your contributions and wish you continued success.”

Councilman Giuseppe Palmeri echoed the praise, commending the deli’s decades of service.

“Their team is fantastic, their service is wonderful, their food is delicious,” he said. “I’m very happy they were the council’s February small business highlight… they’ve been serving this community for over 40 years.”

Founded with a focus on customer service, quality, and affordability, Minit Stop has grown from a local deli to a full-service destination offering breakfast, lunch, a busy butcher shop, and online ordering for fresh and frozen meats. Its menu of made-to-order meals and community-friendly atmosphere has earned it a loyal customer base in Jackson and beyond.

With roots firmly planted in Jackson since 1980, Minit Stop continues to serve residents from Jackson, Howell, Freehold, and surrounding areas, operating as an independent small business committed to tradition and culinary excellence.

Jackson’s business of the month was started this year by Councilman Palmeri, seeking to highlight local businesses in the community.
