Ladder truck called to bring down boy stuck on Mastic Beach roof

MASTIC BEACH, NY — A 10-year-old boy who climbed onto the roof of a home Wednesday morning in Mastic Beach was brought safely back to the ground after police officers and firefighters used a ladder truck to reach him.

The incident unfolded when the child ventured out onto the roof and was unable to get down on his own, prompting a response from first responders. Seventh Precinct Officers Ryan McNulty and Sean Roche climbed up to the roof to remain with the boy while additional assistance was requested.

The Mastic Beach Fire Department arrived with a ladder truck, positioning it alongside the home to provide a safe route down. Firefighters then assisted the boy and the two officers to ground level without reported injuries.
