Large Fight at High School School Ends with Two Hospitalized, Pending Charges

SALISBURY, MD—An assault involving seven juvenile students occurred this morning at James M Bennett High School, prompting a response from local law enforcement. The incident took place near the school’s main entrance at approximately 7:37 AM.

The School Resource Deputy stationed at the high school witnessed the altercation and called for additional support. Road Patrol Deputies and other School Resource Deputies arrived swiftly to assist, using OC spray to disperse the participants. Two of the students involved were subsequently transported to Tidal Health for medical attention.

The Sheriff’s Office’s School Resource Division has identified the students involved and is in the process of filing Requests for Juvenile Charges through the Department of Juvenile Services. Authorities have assured there is no ongoing threat to the school community. Due to the ages of the individuals involved, further details are restricted.

This investigation remains active, and the Sheriff’s Office is appealing to the public for any additional information. Witnesses or those with relevant details are encouraged to contact DFC Pecoraro at the Sheriff’s Office.
