Man pistol-whipped during armed home invasion in Swissvale

SWISSVALE, PA – Allegheny County Police are investigating an armed home invasion that left one man injured Saturday evening on Delaware Avenue.

The attack was reported around 5:48 p.m. in the 2500 block, where multiple suspects forced their way into a residence.

Responding officers found an adult male suffering from head lacerations consistent with being struck by a weapon.

The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Multiple suspects forced entry into home

Detectives said preliminary information indicates that several armed individuals entered the residence and pistol-whipped the victim before fleeing the scene. Investigators are working to determine whether the suspects knew the victim or if the attack was random.

County detectives leading investigation

Allegheny County Police’s General Investigations Unit has taken over the case and is interviewing witnesses while processing the home for evidence. Authorities have not yet released descriptions of the suspects or any potential vehicle involved.
