Man Shot Dead Inside North Bergen Apartment

A 47-year-old North Bergen man died after being found with a gunshot wound inside an apartment Friday afternoon, authorities said.

North Bergen, NJ – The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 47-year-old North Bergen resident.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, North Bergen police responded shortly after 1:30 p.m. Friday to reports of a shooting inside an apartment at 1525 48th Street.

Victim pronounced dead at hospital

When officers arrived, they found Christopher Novembre, 47, of North Bergen, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Emergency responders transported Novembre to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Investigation remains active

Authorities said the individual involved in the shooting has been identified, but no charges or arrests have been announced.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the North Bergen Police Department.
