Deadly stabbing in Northeast DC leads to murder arrest after dispute at entrance
WASHINGTON, DC — A man who was found wounded inside a Northeast establishment after a dispute at the door has died, leading to a murder charge against a suspect taken into custody at the scene early Saturday.
Officers responded around 12:46 a.m. Saturday to the 1100 block of First Street Northeast, where they located an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds inside the location. He was conscious and breathing when first responders arrived.
Emergency crews transported the victim to a hospital, where he later died after lifesaving efforts failed.
The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Marvin Urquhart of Northwest, DC.
Police said the suspect was arrested at the scene. Investigators determined the stabbing occurred during a dispute related to entering the establishment.
The suspect, identified as 50-year-old Cadoza Simms of Northwest, DC, has been charged with second-degree murder while armed.
The case remains under investigation.
