Man gunned down on Langston Place as DC police hunt killer
Washington, DC — A man was shot and killed in Southeast Washington early Saturday, prompting a homicide investigation and a search for those responsible.
Officers responded around 12:48 a.m. May 2 to the 2700 block of Langston Place Southeast for reports of gunfire, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
When they arrived, they found an adult male unconscious and not breathing, suffering from gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene, but despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead.
Police later identified the victim as 35-year-old John Allen Williams III of Southeast DC.
No arrests have been announced, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to call (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
