$10K a month for life ticket sold in Allegheny County as winner remains unknown
MIDDLETOWN, PA — A scratch-off ticket promising $10,000 a month for life was sold in Allegheny County, setting up a major prize claim as the winner has yet to come forward.
The winning ticket was purchased at Century Square SHOP ‘n SAVE, located at 2381 Mountain View Drive in West Mifflin Borough. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the top-prize ticket.
The $10,000 a Month for Life Scratch-Off is a $5 game offering winners either lifetime monthly payments of $10,000 or a one-time cash option of $1.6 million, both subject to applicable withholdings.
Lottery officials said winners are not identified until prizes are claimed and validated. Players holding a winning ticket are advised to sign the back immediately and contact the Pennsylvania Lottery at 1-800-692-7481 for instructions.
Scratch-off tickets are distributed randomly, meaning neither the Lottery nor retailers know where top-prize tickets will be sold until after they are claimed.
Prizes exceeding $5,000 are subject to withholding. Scratch-off prizes must be claimed within one year from the game’s end-sale date, which is listed on the Pennsylvania Lottery’s official website.
