Towson and Owings Mills men score big in Maryland Lottery ‘Unlock the Cash’ live game
BALTIMORE, MD – Two Baltimore County residents walked away with thousands in winnings after competing in the Maryland Lottery’s first-ever Unlock the Cash second-chance live game at Lottery headquarters.
The event featured six locked safes, each containing sealed envelopes with prize amounts ranging from $2,500 to $15,000. Selected to play were Eliezer Adari of Owings Mills and Patrick Meers of Towson.
In the first round, Eliezer opened an envelope worth $2,500 while Patrick secured $10,000. Both then chose a second safe, opening their envelopes simultaneously after a dramatic countdown. Eliezer revealed another $2,500, bringing his total to $5,000, while Patrick uncovered the $15,000 top envelope, raising his winnings to $25,000.
Patrick, a retired U.S. Marine now working for a health insurance company, said the experience was unforgettable. Eliezer, a retiree, shared that his prize money would go right back into playing the Lottery.
The Unlock the Cash promotion began August 22 and continues with two more drawings on October 9 and November 6. Each drawing will select two players who will visit Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to try their luck at unlocking safes for up to $25,000. Entries are earned by submitting $10 worth of non-winning Break the Bank scratch-offs or FAST PLAY Cash Combination tickets into the My Lottery Rewards program.
