Mercedes parking lot meetup ends in drug arrest

Hand to hand deal in Glen Burnie lot leads to crack cocaine arrest

GLEN BURNIE, MD – A late-night surveillance operation in a Glen Burnie parking lot ended with the arrest of a 25-year-old Curtis Bay man after detectives allegedly witnessed a hand-to-hand drug transaction inside a parked Mercedes.

On Tuesday at approximately 10:15 p.m., members of the Anne Arundel County Police Eastern District Strategic Patrol Team were in the 7900 block of Nolpark Court when they observed a black Mercedes displaying Maryland registration plates assigned to another vehicle.

While conducting surveillance, detectives reported seeing a rear-seat passenger engage in a hand-to-hand transaction with an individual in a second vehicle.

Officers then approached the Mercedes and made contact with its occupants. During the investigation, detectives recovered 15.77 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 43.30 grams of suspected cannabis, a digital scale and packaging materials from the rear passenger, according to police.

Zion Donald Alexander Cole, 25, of Curtis Bay, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
