Metro station arrest ends robbery case tied to Southwest attack
Washington, DC — An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a robbery outside a Southwest recreation center after transit officers spotted him entering a Metro station days later.
The incident occurred April 3 around 9:06 p.m. in the 200 block of N Street, Southwest, where officers responded to reports of a robbery.
Investigators said the suspect approached the victim from behind as they were entering a recreation center, demanded property, and then assaulted the victim before taking their belongings.
On April 10, Metro Transit Police officers familiar with the case located the suspect as he entered a Metro station and took him into custody.
The suspect, identified as Troy Magoh, 18, of Fort Washington, Maryland, was arrested on a DC Superior Court warrant and charged with robbery involving force and violence.
The Metropolitan Police Department credited Metro Transit Police for assisting in the arrest.
