Millsboro, DE – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a severe industrial accident that occurred at WWC III Trucking in Millsboro. The incident took place on February 20, 2024, around 3:49 p.m., resulting in serious injuries to a 55-year-old man.
Upon arrival, troopers learned that the victim had already been transported to a local hospital with significant injuries. Preliminary investigations indicated that the accident occurred while the victim was using a torch to cut open a barrel, which had previously contained a flammable liquid.
The vapors inside the barrel ignited, leading to an explosion that caused the injuries.
The Delaware State Police detectives are investigating the incident.
