Drivers across the Garden State faced a chaotic morning commute with multiple crashes, lane closures, and delays reported on major highways as of 8:30 a.m.

In Wall Township, a crash involving injuries, an overturned vehicle, and a downed utility pole on NJ-34 northbound near Monmouth Executive Airport has closed the right lane. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution.

The New Jersey Turnpike saw multiple incidents, including a crash on the Hudson County Extension westbound near Interchange 14A in Bayonne, which blocked the right shoulder, and another crash southbound at Interchange 7A in Robbinsville, partially blocking the ramp.

On I-295, a southbound crash near Exit 40 in Mount Laurel Township closed one left lane. Meanwhile, on the Garden State Parkway northbound in Union Township, a crash has been cleared, with the vehicle now on the shoulder near Exit 138.

Power issues also complicated travel on NJ-37 in Toms River Township, where a failure has rendered cross traffic at intersections impossible. While all lanes remain open, drivers are urged to navigate cautiously.

Heavy delays were reported on the George Washington Bridge, where travel times for both upper and lower levels eastbound were 25 minutes from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge. Other delays included NJ-4 eastbound in Hackensack, NJ-24 westbound in Millburn Township, and NJ-17 in both directions in Paramus and Rochelle Park Township, with travel times ranging from five to 15 minutes.

Drivers should plan extra travel time as congestion continues across various corridors.
