Man wins $200K jackpot playing lottery before bed
NORTH CHESTERFIELD, Va. — What started as a simple nightly habit to unwind turned into a life-changing moment for a Virginia man who scored a $200,000 lottery jackpot from his phone.
Larry Bailey, who regularly plays the Virginia Lottery before going to bed, had just tucked his kids in for the night when he decided to try his luck on the Bucks Triple Play online game.
Moments later, he realized something incredible had happened.
“I’ve seen those pictures of big winners, but I never thought it would be me!” Bailey said. “I’m in shock!”
The North Chesterfield resident said the routine game he plays to relax unexpectedly delivered a six-figure prize, turning an ordinary evening into one he won’t forget.
Despite the major win, Bailey is keeping things simple.
He said he has no immediate plans for the money beyond taking care of his family and possibly planning a trip.
Bucks Triple Play is one of several online instant games offered by the Virginia Lottery, allowing players to try their luck from home using a mobile device or computer.
Lottery officials say proceeds from ticket sales help support public education across the state, contributing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to K-12 schools.
