Nonprofit steps up to aid displaced families in the wake of a devastating apartment fire in Asbury Park

ASBURY PARK, N.J. — The Asbury Park Police Department expressed gratitude on Monday for the efforts of “We Are Loved,” a local nonprofit organization, We Are Loved, in aiding families affected by a recent apartment fire that left several residents displaced.

Led by volunteer Phyllis and her team, the organization worked through the weekend to collect and donate essential items to assist the victims. These donations are part of a larger citywide relief effort, which includes support from the City of Asbury Park and the United Fellowship Baptist Church.

In a statement shared on social media, the Asbury Park Police Department recognized We Are Loved for their ongoing support throughout the year, particularly for their “Comfort Bags,” given to children involved in traumatic incidents.

“These donations will help with the City of Asbury Park & United Fellowship Baptist Church efforts to get these families back on their feet and replenish some of what they lost,” the department said.

The apartment fire displaced multiple families, and relief efforts are ongoing to address their immediate needs and help them rebuild.
