NEW YORK, NY – An off-duty New York City Police Department (NYPD) officer was apprehended early Sunday morning. Avijit Boiragee, 33, faced arrest and subsequent charges within the 61 Precinct’s jurisdiction.
Boiragee is currently facing allegations of assault and harassment. The arrest took place at 3:50 AM on April 7.
The NYPD has not released any further details on this incident. Boiragee joined the department in 2021.
