Nine New Jersey players win big in Powerball as jackpot climbs to $1.7B
Trenton, NJ – Nine New Jersey Lottery players scored major secondary prizes in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing, including one ticket worth $100,000 and eight others worth $50,000 each.
The winning numbers for September 3 were 03, 16, 29, 61, 69, with the Powerball 22. The Power Play multiplier was 2. While no ticket matched all six numbers to claim the jackpot, one New Jersey ticket matched four white balls, the Powerball, and the multiplier to double a $50,000 prize to $100,000. Eight other tickets matched four white balls plus the Powerball, each winning $50,000.
This follows Monday’s drawing, which produced 13 New Jersey prizes of at least $50,000, including two $1 million winners.
The secondary prize streak is part of a surge in wins since May 31, when the current jackpot run began. In 41 drawings, more than 1.6 million winning tickets have been sold in the Garden State. Of those, 50 players have won at least $50,000, including four $1 million prizes, one $300,000 prize, one $150,000 prize, and five $100,000 prizes.
The Powerball jackpot now stands at $1.7 billion for Saturday, September 6. The prize, the third-largest in U.S. lottery history, carries a cash option of $770.3 million.
