Overturned crash shuts down Bay Head intersection, sends victims to hospital

BAY HEAD, NJ – A two-vehicle crash that left one car overturned shut down a busy Bay Head intersection late Wednesday morning, drawing a multi-agency emergency response.

The collision happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main Avenue and Harris Street, where fire crews were dispatched for reports of an overturned vehicle, according to the Bay Head Fire Department.

Occupants from both vehicles were assisted out by responding police officers before firefighters arrived on scene. No one was trapped inside the vehicles, officials said.

Fire units from the Bay Head Fire Department and the Mantoloking Fire Company remained on location to provide scene safety and hazard control while the roadway was secured and vehicles were cleared.

Injured parties were evaluated and treated at the scene by the Point Pleasant First Aid & Emergency Squad. The extent of injuries was not released.
