Pennsylvania home invasion ends in prison sentence after AirPods track suspect

A late-night break-in at a Bucks County home escalated into a violent encounter that prosecutors described as deeply traumatic, ending with a multi-year prison sentence after investigators used stolen AirPods to locate the suspect.

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA – A 34-year-old man will spend years in state prison after admitting to breaking into a home and attacking a woman as she slept, in what prosecutors called a “woman’s worst nightmare.” The incident unfolded in the early morning hours inside a residence on Miller Drive, leaving lasting psychological harm for both victims.

Nafis Lamont Donte Fisher was sentenced by Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Wallace H. Bateman Jr. to 4 1/2 to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of probation, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. Fisher previously pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including burglary, aggravated assault, robbery, and theft-related offenses.

Violent encounter inside bedroom

At about 2:45 a.m. on Oct. 7, a 25-year-old woman woke up to find Fisher restraining her on her bed, prosecutors said. “Her screams forced Fisher to release her and flee the room,” the district attorney’s office stated. “In the hallway, Fisher encountered and briefly grappled with the victim’s mother before escaping through the kitchen, basement, and attached garage.”

When officers arrived and searched the home, they found “a large kitchen knife left on the victim’s bed and a 12-foot extension cord on the floor beside it,” according to prosecutors.

Authorities said Fisher fled in a black sedan, taking several personal items including AirPods, identification, credit and debit cards, and a U.S. passport.

AirPods tracking leads to arrest

Investigators said the stolen AirPods became the key to locating the suspect within hours. “Law enforcement successfully tracked Fisher in real-time by utilizing the ‘FindMy’ feature on the victim’s stolen AirPods,” the district attorney’s office said.

The signal led officers from Upper Southampton Township along the Pennsylvania Turnpike and into Philadelphia, where it stopped near Aramingo Avenue and East Somerset Street. With assistance from Philadelphia police, officers located Fisher inside a black 2014 Kia Forte.

“To confirm the suspect’s identity, an Upper Southampton officer remotely activated the AirPods, which emitted an audible tone from inside the vehicle,” prosecutors said. “Fisher was immediately detained and later made substantive admissions to investigators.”

Lasting trauma reported by victims

Bucks County First Assistant District Attorney Kristin McElroy described the case as “the most frightening kind of burglary,” highlighting the emotional toll on the victims.

According to prosecutors, the younger woman reported ongoing fear and panic, saying she now experiences “a constant sense of fear whenever I’m alone at night,” with ordinary nighttime sounds triggering intense reactions. Her mother also reported severe anxiety, sleep disruption, and lasting distress following the confrontation.

Fisher’s sentence ensures he will remain incarcerated for several years before becoming eligible for release under state guidelines.
