Multiple arrests in Cumberland as theft warrant and court no shows catch up with suspects
CUMBERLAND, MD — A series of arrests in Cumberland this week ranged from a shoplifting case dating back months to multiple suspects picked up for failing to appear in court.
Police served a warrant on Bethany Shroyer, 33, of Keyser, West Virginia, in connection with a reported shoplifting incident at a Park Street business last summer. Investigators said the theft occurred on June 29, 2025, and charges were later filed after she was identified as the suspect. She was released following a bond hearing.
In a separate case, Brian Wolfe, 50, of Cumberland, was arrested on a bench warrant after failing to appear in court on a prior theft charge. He was also released after appearing before a commissioner.
Another warrant led to the arrest of Arlie Lease Jr., 55, of Cumberland, who failed to appear in court on a driving without a license charge. He posted a $2,500 unsecured bond.
Police also issued a criminal summons to Leroy Spencer III, 32, of Cumberland, after a private citizen filed a complaint accusing him of disturbing the peace related to loud noise. He was released pending trial.
Authorities said the arrests highlight ongoing enforcement efforts targeting outstanding warrants and unresolved cases.
