Police seeking suspect in vehicle driveby shooting

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred on November 11th in the 1400 block of Spring Street in Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect’s vehicle and are asking for the public’s help in identifying it.

On November 11th, at approximately 5:50 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the intersection of Spring Street and Second Avenue for the report of a vehicle involved shooting that had just occurred.

The investigation by detectives has determined that the victim was driving her vehicle in the 1400 block of Spring Street when a black BMW X5 SUV drove alongside her. One of the occupants of the SUV fired multiple shots into the victim’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle then fled on Spring Street. During this incident, no one was injured.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black BMW X5 SUV with tinted windows.
