Drug raid in Dorchester leads to arrest and seizure of guns cash and narcotics

BOSTON, Mass. — A drug investigation in Dorchester led to the arrest of a 47-year-old man and the seizure of firearms, narcotics and cash, police said.

Officers with Boston Police drug units executed a search warrant on Hamilton Street on March 23 following an investigation into suspected drug activity.

Police said they observed the suspect, Lonnie Fortes, arrive at the residence and took him into custody before executing the warrant.

Inside the home, officers recovered two .22 caliber firearms, along with multiple bags of crack cocaine and marijuana, as well as oxycodone and Adderall pills.

Investigators also seized drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Fortes is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.
