Powerball win in Queens adds up to $50K surprise

$50,000 Powerball ticket sold at Ozone Park convenience store

OZONE PARK, NY — A Powerball ticket purchased at a local convenience store in Ozone Park has earned one lucky player a $50,000 third-place prize in the January 19 drawing, according to the New York Lottery.

The winning ticket was sold at Bolla 100-03 Cohancy C-Store, located at 100-03 North Conduit Avenue in Ozone Park. The ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the red Power Ball, securing the third-tier prize.

Powerball drawings are held three times a week — every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday — at 10:59 p.m. Numbers are drawn from two separate fields: one from 1 to 69 for the white balls, and one from 1 to 26 for the red Power Ball.

Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

The New York Lottery reports that $3.6 billion in lottery profits from the 2024–2025 fiscal year were used to support public education throughout the state.
