Sykesville Man $100K Richer With Lottery Win

January 12, 2024

SYKESVILLE, MD – A Sykesville man’s Thanksgiving weekend turned extraordinary with a $100,000 win on a FAST PLAY Mega Multiplier ticket. The Carroll County resident, and father of two, strategically delayed claiming his prize until 2024 to relish the moment fully.

His lucky day was the Saturday following Thanksgiving at the Sykesville Convenience Store. Opting for four $10 FAST PLAY Mega Multiplier games, his choice was influenced by his habit of checking remaining prizes before purchasing. With only two top prizes claimed at the time, he felt optimistic about his chances.

The excitement unfolded when he scanned his tickets and was greeted with a congratulatory message. Initially mistaking his win for $10, he soon realized the message indicated a much larger sum – $100,000. To assure himself, he scanned the ticket again, confirming the life-changing win. Calmly, he secured the ticket, finished his shopping, and left the store.

The winner, holding a master’s degree, aspires to further his education and plans to allocate a portion of his winnings towards this goal. He also intends to support his daughters as needed.

Sykesville Convenience Store, located at 887 Sandusky Road in Sykesville, will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the top-prize winning ticket. Launched in April 2023, the Mega Multiplier game still offers players the chance to win numerous substantial prizes, including 27 unclaimed top prizes and other significant awards.
