Teen busted in d. C. Shooting that left 16-year-old wounded

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with a weekend shooting on Call Place in Southeast D.C. that left a teenage boy seriously injured, police confirmed Thursday.

The shooting took place on Sunday, April 20, around 5:43 p.m. in the 5300 block of Call Place, Southeast. Sixth District officers arrived at the scene and found a 16-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital where he was treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the investigation, police arrested 17-year-old Travis Thomas of Southeast D.C. on Wednesday, April 23. He has been charged as an adult under Title 16 with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

Authorities have not released further details about the events leading up to the shooting or the motive behind the attack. The investigation remains active, and detectives continue to gather evidence in the case.
