Juvenile suspect identified after string of unlocked vehicle thefts in Evesham neighborhoods
EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ – A series of vehicle thefts and car burglaries in multiple Evesham residential developments has led investigators to a juvenile suspect, police announced Tuesday, following the execution of a search warrant in Camden.
The investigation, which began in early December, focused on incidents reported in the Willow Ridge, Brush Hollow, and Woodstream developments. According to police, each of the targeted vehicles had been left unlocked at the time of the theft or burglary.
Evesham Township detectives, with assistance from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team and the Camden County Police Department, executed a search warrant at a home on Dupont Street in Camden. During the operation, authorities recovered a firearm, a high-capacity magazine, and additional evidence related to the case.
The suspect has been identified as a juvenile, and formal charges are expected pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
Police are urging residents with any information related to this case—or other recent motor vehicle thefts and burglaries—to contact investigators. The department has released several contact methods, including a confidential tip line and anonymous text submissions.
Authorities emphasized the importance of locking vehicles and removing valuables to prevent these types of crimes, especially as unlocked cars continue to be frequent targets.
