Stafford teen arrested for DUI after 63 mph stop near Falmouth car wash

STAFFORD, VA — A late-night speeding stop at a Falmouth car wash ended with an 18-year-old Stafford resident in custody after deputies said they detected signs of alcohol impairment during the roadside investigation.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reported that on Monday, January 20, at about 10:15 p.m., Deputy D. S. Jett conducted a traffic stop at the Falmouth Car Wash, 199 Cambridge Street, after clocking a vehicle traveling 63 mph in a 45-mph zone. Deputy S. A. Fulford responded to assist.

Deputies said Deputy Fulford made contact with the driver and detected an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from the driver’s person while speaking with him. After field sobriety tests were administered, the driver was taken into custody, according to the report.

The driver was identified as Angel Mondragon, 18, of Stafford. Deputies said Mondragon was charged with driving under the influence, driving without a license, and speeding.
